ABOUT THE STINGER
A passion project created in early 2022 by two people who spend too much free time watching TV shows and movies and listening to music instead of doing work, The Stinger, named after the nickname for post-credit scenes, focuses on providing unique blog posts and articles about entertainment and art from all around the world. Through (what we hope is) witty commentary and diligent analysis, we hope that our pieces can help you develop a new perspective and learn something new about your favorite media or, at the very least, give you a good chuckle. Hi, I’m Sam! I have been writing short stories for as long as I can remember, but after becoming a section editor for my high school newspaper during my sophomore year, I began writing more analytical pieces. I'm currently a college student, and I work as a blogger for my college's admissions office.
When I’m not building Legos or writing, I’m rewatching my favorite TV shows (What We Do in the Shadows, Community, Atlanta – just to name a few) or listening to Glass Animals and Mitski songs on repeat. Sometimes, if I’m feeling brave, I share my opinions on Marvel movies. I always love finding diverse shows and movies to watch, so if you have any recommendations, feel free to shoot me an email!

Hello there, I’m Aero and I write things! Most of my experience comes from crafting argumentative debate speeches, but I’ve also been a researcher/writer for my school paper and a short story writer. I’d say I’m decent at these things, but I’ll leave it to you to decide.

I’m currently a junior in high school, which is quite a busy time, but I always have time to talk about Asian (especially Indonesian) cinema, absurd comedies and bands that old people like. Hi, my name is Reiko! I'm a freshman in college majoring in illustration! I hope to become an entertainment concept designer as a career so, of course, I love and highly admire film! In terms of liking a film for its design, sci-fi and dystopian movies are my go-to but I’ll always have a soft spot for coming-of-age films and romantic comedies. Not only am I a nerd for film but I also adore art history. I plan to minor in art history or even get a second degree in it later on! Art is an amazing way to learn about the history of the world and is constantly being seen everywhere you go and movies are no exception. Although art is my main focus I do enjoy analyzing texts from a literary point of view as well.
